Frankenstein’s Monster 12-inch figure from Mel Brooks’s film – Young Frankenstein
The brilliant item being viewed here is Frankenstein’s ‘Monster’ 12-inch figure from the hilarious movie – Young Frankenstein.
The Monster comes with accessories to include a soup bowl, a broken mug, a flower, shackles, an interchangeable hand with burning thumb and a base.
The jacket and trousers are made from a fleece material which gives a rich texture to the look of the figure. The soles of his boots are moulded and painted to resemble studs.
N.B. The bowl, broken mug, and flaming thumb are all from the memorable scene with the blind hermit. Note that the hand with the flaming thumb is grasping the cigar which the hermit was trying to light for the Monster.
In 2001 Sideshow Toys released three figures from the classic horror spoof movie - Young Frankenstein (from 1974) limited to just 7,500 pieces world-wide. This was a Mel Brooks movie and went so far as to film it in black and white, adding to the old-time horror look and appeal.
Sideshow Toy has recreated this authentic look by creating these 12-inch action figures in black and white. The gray tones pay homage to the "Silver Screen Editions" of Sideshow's 12-inch Universal Monster figures.
The Young Frankenstein assortment consists of three action figures - Frederick Frankenstein (Gene Wilder), Igor (Marty Feldman) and The Monster (Peter Boyle).
The portrait sculpture for these three figures was created by Mat Falls.
Figure comes mint in a sealed condition 6+ box (one minor fault on a corner of the box which is highlighted).
